How this piece is put together

No leather, velvet or cotton word is printed, and none is invented here. If a lining shows in the gallery, its colour is part of the order. If it does not show, ask before you assume one

A hand-finished edge and a machine edge can both be sound. The edge should not fray when the ties are pulled. Where a Lodge keeps a shared stock, mark the owner inside the case so the piece comes home with the right member

Joins on ties, straps and bands take the strain. Those joins should be stitched back, not held by a single line. Embroidery, when the title names it, should sit even. A pucker at a corner is a reason to pause before the piece is accepted

No shade word is printed in the title, so the gallery has to be read. The bench cuts after the written note is locked. A later change to the emblem has to arrive before cutting
